Birdscape
Christians wines always seem to be closely related to art and this range is no different. The label is inspired by an art piece of the same name from Icelandic artist Erró. The diversity, liveliness and emotions of the painting seemingly reflected in this little piece of nature in a small village in Purbach, Austria, gave Christian the idea of Birdscape. The soil types are varied form limestone, quarts to schist and other sediments, giving these wines its natural acidity and energetic fruit structures.
Birdscape 2018 - a light red or how Christian likes to call it, Pink Maceration. A Gemischter Satz (Field Blend) of red and white varieties. Big notes of pomegranate and cranberry with a lifting lightness and acidity.
Birdscape White 2019 - another Gemischter Satz from the same vineyard made from only white varieties. With light maceration of the skins, the wine shows bright notes of green apple, citrus and light nuttiness typical to his wines.
